This role will support Weir ESCO facilities in Bucyrus, OH and Covington, KY, and is able to be located at either location.
The HR Manager serves as the leading HR business partner for all employees at our Bucyrus Blades and Covington manufacturing facilities. The primary responsibility for this role is to lead and execute on initiatives tied to talent acquisition, employee development, retention, and talent management that advance the organizational capability of the sites. This role reports to the Site Managers, and indirectly to the ESCO HR Director to drive talent-based initiatives as part of the corporate growth strategy.
Job Duties:
As a key leader of these manufacturing/fabrication operations, demonstrate a hands-on approach to provide quality HR support; provide high quality HR counsel, tools, and resources to build capability and deliver outstanding results
Partner with the Site Manager and leadership teams to deliver the talent agenda necessary to meet all business initiatives and objectives; support, develop, and execute talent management and succession planning processes; establish and maintain effective talent acquisition and retention processes
Participate in the development and roll out of corporate initiatives and strategies
Contribute to business plans to determine HR implications and ensure that plans are developed and resourced to support them
Facilitate the development of a safe, participative, flexible, and open work environment that reflects the ethics and values of Weir ESCO
Ensure all necessary employment laws and regulations are followed; coach and counsel on employee-related issues
Effectively manage staff and wage payroll, benefits administration, and employee communications
Be a key player in the development of the site vision and work culture improvement strategies
Embrace and promote the ESCO Business System (EBS)
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business (or related discipline)
Five+ years of related HR experience (ideally with some being in manufacturing)
HR experience managing hourly employees
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/fabrication environment
Willing and able to travel up to 50% between both facilities (Bucyrus, OH and Covington, KY)
Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States
Additional required skills and abilities include a demonstrated skillset in change management with strengths in influential leadership, building relationships, problem solving, and workplace transformation; high degree of intelligence and self-confidence to function as a consultant and coach; a style that is open, honest, and collaborative; excellent people assessment skills; exposure to and understanding of lean principles; champion of continuous improvement mindset.
