JOB SUMMARY:
Finish metal truck bodies and parts in preparation for powder coating or paint.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grind, sand, and scrape metal in preparation for coating
Wash, rinse, and caulk metal in preparation for coating
Responsible for quality of product going to coating department
Responsible for tools required to use (air tools, hand tools, tape measure, glue, tape)
Perform all Safety and Housekeeping duties
Other duties as requested, directed or assigned by the Supervisor
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma, or equivalent, is preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to stand (8 hours), bend (2 hours), reach (1/2 hour) and move about the facility
Regularly required to lift up to 70 pounds (4 to 6 times a day)
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE):
Required to use safety glasses, hearing protection, and wear safety toed shoes
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Plant environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes
Exposed to any number of elements, but none present to the extent of being disagreeable
Excessive heat in the summer time
