BC Forward is currently seeking highly motivated Devops Engineer in the Columbus Ohio.

Job Description:

  • Proficient in DevOps Engineering skills as well as multiple design techniques Working proficiency in DevOps Engineering development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with ability to work in at least one of the common frameworks
  • Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, application resiliency and security
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages
  • Working proficiency in a portion of software engineering disciplines and demonstrates understanding of overall software skills including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement of software

Responsibilities: Manage day to day issues including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with end users, development staff and Infrastructure teams, to prioritize and resolve and/or mitigate outages Monitor production activities/processes to ensure timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up and communication of problems to internal and external clients, technical resources, and executives Ensures information controls, back-up and recovery strategies are in place across all environments Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions, Design self-healing and resiliency patterns Implement continuous process improvement, including but not limited to policy, procedures, and production monitoring Help in identifying, coordinating, and implementing initiatives/projects and activities that create efficiencies and optimize technical processing Develop and maintain relationships with technical staff, end users and clients Carefully evaluate alternative risks and solutions before taking action to provide timely resolution Demonstrate creativity, innovation and high performance

Technical Qualification: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Production Support/Engineering. 5+ years of experience managing UNIX/Linux/Aix environment. 5+ years' experience with distributed applications (Oracle, Cassandra, SQL, SQL Server, Do integration of orchestration platform with multiple products using management APIs provided (REST, JSON etc.) 3-5 years of hands-on experience with UNIX, Linux, Java, Java servlets and JSP, Spring, Hibernate, SOAP, web services etc.) 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Splunk, WILY and Dynatrace. 3-5 years' experience in UNIX shell, Perl, Python, Ruby or similar scripting languages. 3-5 years' experience apache/tomcat/Web Sphere and WebLogic. 3-5 years' experience with Cloud technologies like AWS or GAIA. 3-5 years' Strong analytical & trouble shooting skills required. 1-3 years' Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and test execution. Knowledge working in Scrum/Kanban/JIRA is a plus. Experience working with scheduling tools like Autosys/Control-M is a plus. Experience supporting mission-critical platforms/applications desirably in financial services industry, Strong knowledge of relevant applications and development of life cycles Commitment to attract, develop and retain talent Strong knowledge of applicable business areas, the supporting technology architecture, and applicable processes Strong knowledge of relevant applications and development of life cycles Excellent problem management skills and relentless drive for root cause and execute measures to reduce repeat occurrence.
