Position Summary:Alene Candles LLC & Midwest is a private label, contract manufacturer that produces high-quality candles for some of the world’s most recognized retail, boutique, and cosmetic brands. We are passionate about making the best products in the world, making safety our number one priority, and being an insanely great place to work.Oversee that required wax batches are made in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Provide leadership, guidance, and training to Wax Dept. personnel. Serve as back up to Wax Supervisor as required.Job Functions:
Develop Component Knowledge
Utilize batch sheets and standard formulas to accurately identify and measure amounts and weigh each of the components for each job when required. Complete all necessary paperwork thoroughly and accurately to meet company and customer SOP’s
Combine components in tanks to produce and supply wax batches for fill lines
Maintain accurate records of Item ID numbers on drums or other temporary containers to track fragrance and other components used
Work with supervisor to anticipate and meet production demands, including reviewing and adjusting if necessary the wax tech work schedule
Maintain records for proper and accurate inventory control of wax department components utilizing barcode labels, O2 guns, and the ERP system
Leads the shift in maintaining the condition of equipment and tools assigned to the area as well as cleanliness and organization of the area to assure a safe working environment
Cross train and oversee that expected training takes place for Wax Techs in the following areas: Material Handler, Dye Maker, Batch Maker, Startup & Shutdown, Sonication, Wax Deliveries, Data Entry in the ERP system, as well as any additional Wax tech responsibilities
Back up Wax Supervisor as needed in supervision duties, training and coordination of activities and, in doing so, maintain a strict enforcement of all departmental SOP’s and procedures to maintain safety, quality and accuracy
Maintain Alene standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned by the Wax Supervisor
RequirementsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises hourly, exempt Wax Team as needed. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; motivating and appraising performance; reward and discipline of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Top 3-5 Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership skills
Ability to resolve diverse problems, to understand the importance of structure and organization
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Range of Experience:
12 months of related experience
Fork Lift License and pallet jack training are required
Basic computer skills, data entry experience, and base knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be willing to learn ERP system and O2 guns
Education required:
High school diploma or GED; or 12 months of related experience and training; or combination of education and experience
