Additional information about the company can be found at WhirlpoolCorp.com.This role in summaryOur Ottawa Manufacturing team is looking for a Self Fab Set Up and Operator to change over, set up, and run shelf welders, pizza gate welders, nibblers and unload finished products. Change over machines following the schedule and running machines at cycle time.$20.50 per hour plus $1.25 2nd shift premium.Your responsibilities will include
Performs repe titive operations on the equipment used on this semi-automatic line, operating the equipment, and making adjustments to avoid scrap and downtime.
Daily first off and hourly checks and inspection pieces during the production run for visual quality and specified print dimensions.
Checks regularly all safety devices and works safely to prevent injury to themselves, others and the equipment.
Performs routine maintenance such as removing bends in rods or fixing weld imperfections on the shelves and keeping equipment neat appearing by wiping or cleaning. Lubrication of machines and other related PM activities, including changing out weld blocks.
Performs routine/regular housekeeping duties.
Care in loading and unloading machines with tow motor to prevent damage to equipment and product.
Responsible for the correct counts and documentation.
Ability to operate Tow motor, hand tools, wire/rod straighteners and cutters, shelf and pizza gate welding machines and nibblers.
Comply with proper PPE and 5S guidelines.
Comply with standard work guidelines.
Other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Minimum requirements
High School Diploma/GED
18 years old or older
Must be able to communicate and receive communications regarding safety components and job instruction.
Set up, adjust, and change over the equipment.
Capability and knowledge of using special tools, gauges, charts, and print specification.
Requires the use of judgement in making general decisions related to quality standards.
Previous forklift experience.
Preferred skills and experiences
6 months of manufacturing work experience
1+ years of consistent work experience
