The role of the production planning supervisor needs to foster a collaborative and productive work environment while planning, scheduling and coordinating production of our products. What you will be doing:

Act as the primary point of contact for high security production planning between production, procurement, sales, engineering and other relevant departments

Responsible for leading and developing a team of Core fence products product planners by providing an environment for training/education, guidance, and growth

Foster a collaborative and productive working environment

Communicate regularly to management on production status, potential delays, and any other issues affecting production

Coordinate with procurement and planning teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials

Adjust schedules as needed based on production delays, equipment maintenance, raw material delays or changes in demand.

Produce and manage production schedules and work orders to ensure that production deadlines shipment dates are met.

Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including labor, materials, work flow and equipment.

Responsible for supporting New Product Launches/engineering projects representing production planning

Responsible for inventory management of stock, non-stock materials, and ageing inventory

Drive continuous improvement activities to help identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production planning process and implement solutions to improve productivity, efficiency and reduce costs

Assemble facts and data to make an informed decision on balancing production work centers, production schedules, material availability/lead times along with customer requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree Preferred – Preferably Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, or Engineering

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in using ERP systems and production planning software

Proficient in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) principles / systems

Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management

Other:

Strong oral and written communication skills required

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required

Strong Excel skills preferred
