International Paper is known for our commitment to the environment and to cutting-edge technology.We are committed to attracting, training, promoting, and supporting our employees throughout their careers.The Job You Will Perform:Valliant is a 5,000+ ton per day containerboard mill with 3 paper machines, 3 continuous digesters, 2 secondary fiber plants and a utilities/chemical recovery complex. It currently operates with 350+ mill employees and 150+ contract maintenance employees in a results-oriented environment.An Entry Level Operator in the Extra Utility Pool can expect to work in any area of the Valliant Mill. Entry Level Operators may be assigned to work in the Chipyard, OCC (Recycle Plant), Shipping, Paper Machine, Power House, Pulp Mill, or Storeroom area. The day-to-day tasks an Entry Level Operator may be assigned range from mobile equipment and heavy machinery operation to clean-up and general housekeeping duties.Entry Level Operator candidates must be adaptable to a constantly changing work environment. Candidates must be aggressive learners and be able to follow detailed written and verbal procedures for Safety, Quality, and Production purposes. Candidates must have an excellent work record that demonstrates high standards in job performance and attendance. And above all, candidates must be dedicated to working safely each and every day.Day-to-day tasks include industrial equipment operation, remote control crane operation, and operating various other types of production equipment such as control panels or computer screen monitoring/controls systems. Additional tasks include housekeeping, on-the-job training, safety-related assignments, and more.The Valliant Mill operates 24/7/365 and candidates must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (6 o’clock to 6 o’clock), holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime.The Skills You Will Bring:Must be:

At least 18 years of age

Minimum High School Diploma or GED

Eligible for employment in the U.S.

Must be willing to meet the following requirements:

Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment

Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment

Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule

Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification

Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis

Wear required safety equipment

Operate or work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
