Human Resources Assistant Job Summary
Perform activities in the human resource area. The human resources assistant performs work of moderate difficulty in human resources. HR represents both the employee and the company, and handles employee relations. Human Resources assistants are responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations.
Human Resources Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
Answers phone for the HR department
Handles employment application intake. Assists the HR Director in the recruitment and interview potential of applicants
based on experience, skills and education
Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance
Responsible for the CDL and Medical Card compliance with DOT drivers
Maintain employee records and paperwork
Process termination forms for DOT drivers
Process Verification of Employment
Making travel arrangements as needed for employees
Participate in the on-call rotation with the HR Department
Assist the HR Director and HR Manager with other assigned tasks
Human Resources Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
Possesses superb written and spoken communication skills
Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills
Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Excel and demonstrated skills
in database management and record keeping
Organized and efficient in daily tasks
No HR experience required
