This is a long term, career job opportunity with access to benefits, PTO, and more!Job Description:This Estimator/Project Manager will create accurate, professional, organized cost estimates for components of steel fabricated products, primarily pressure vessels and heat exchangers. The career path for this role trains into a Sales Engineer role within the company. They will start by assisting current PMs/Estimators with estimation and the management of client communication throughout current projects while learning company estimation standards.Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Use quotation packages and drawings to provide estimates for steel components and other large fabrication projects
Use AutoCAD to review and breakdown fabrication drawings into detailed BOMs for quoting
Prepare and send purchasing RFQ's for all materials, machining, and services required for bid package
Insert pricing into bid for materials, machining, and services ensuring all components are priced and included
Delineate any and all labor required for producing fabrication
Estimate hours in labor fields
Project timeline management
Cultivate and maintain healthy relationships with engineering, project managers, customers, and vendors
Complete estimates on time, securing orders while maintaining a profitable margin.
Prepare organized, well detailed estimate for review and prepare quote
Work with sales, estimating and project management group to achieve project goals
Work hand in hand with the current Sales Engineers to learn the business development side of the business before stepping into the Sales Engineer role
Will learn ASME Pressure Vessel requirements and codes
Skills & Qualifications:Must Have:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Ability to read drawings/blueprints in AutoCAD (2-5 years preferred)
Comfortable being flexible on the job and adjusting/pivoting with the needs of the business
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally
Nice to Have:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or AA in Engineering Technology
Any experience with Mie Trak ERP software will stand out
Experience within a metal fabrication setting, added bonus if large scale projects (Vigor, etc.)
1-5 years of Project Engineer/Project Management experience
Experience with BD/sales acumen
