Location: Eugene, OR

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: Competitive for area; DOE

Schedule: Day Shift/ Swing Shift (Overtime as needed)

We are currently seeking Welder/Fitter A & B Level candidates to join our fabrication team.

Position Summary

The Welder/Fitter is responsible for assembling, welding, and fabricating metal components according to customer blueprints, specifications, and internal standards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a production environment.

Welder/Fitter A candidates will perform all duties of a Welder/Fitter B and also provide technical guidance, oversee moderate-sized projects, and demonstrate advanced proficiency and certification.

Key Responsibilities - General Welder/Fitter Duties (A & B Levels):

Assemble and weld fabricated components to customer specifications using MIG and FCAW processes.

Use jigs, fixtures, welders, power tools, hand tools, and measuring devices to complete assemblies.

Fit and work parts to close tolerances.

Drill, ream, punch, oxyfuel cut, plasma cut, grind, and air-arc as required.

Set up welding equipment including current, amperage, and gas flow per specifications.

Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and material specs.

Operate forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes to move and position materials.

Inspect completed work to ensure proper weld quality, penetration, and compliance with tolerances.

Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment.

Complete all required documentation including timecards, production reports, and QA paperwork.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Perform other duties as assigned by a Journeyman or Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities for Welder/Fitter A:

Perform trackburning and trackwelding tasks.

Straighten metal components as needed for proper fit and alignment.

Oversee moderate-sized projects or work assignments.

Provide technical support and direction to Welder/Fitter B personnel.

Hold a minimum AWS D1.1 welding certification.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Shop environment

Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and work in varying positions.

Comfortable operating power tools, manual tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes.

Education & Experience Requirements

Welder/Fitter B:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.

Proficient in MIG, FCAW, and tack welding.

Strong math and dimensional measurement skills (English & Metric).

Minimum 2 years of welding and fabrication experience.

Welder/Fitter A:

All requirements of Welder/Fitter B, plus:

Minimum 5 years of welding and fabrication experience.

Proficient in math, trigonometry, and dimensional measuring tools (tape measures, micrometers, etc.).

AWS D1.1 certification required.

Demonstrated competency in all Welder/Fitter duties.
