Looking for a self-starting, results-driven, highly motivated Data Center Sales Engineer. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with an extensive background in the Data Center industry to get in on the ground floor of a dynamic and growing Data Center company.

The successful candidate will have pre-sales technical experience in the colocation industry, comfort with giving presentations and thought leadership. This person will also need to have superb communication and analytical skills including the ability to independently prioritize and track complex, competing schedules; proactively anticipate and complete tasks. This position requires tight internal collaboration between other key departments across the domestic and international teams.

Data Center Sales Engineer will work closely with the Sales team as a subject-matter expert, evaluate technical requirements of new sales opportunities and develop solutions to ensure customer satisfaction This role requires partnering with the sales team to communicate how the proposed solution meets or exceeds customer requirements. This individual will be responsible for establishing relationships with our customers and partners, represent our client and is an integral part of the sales process.

Essential Functions

Assist with preparing quotes, proposals and RFI/RFP responses

Partner with the sales team to develop winning strategies and presentations

Design solution and supporting documents for customer and partner sales opportunities

Periodic travel for customer meetings, trade shows, conferences and training

Engage and often lead sales discussions with prospects, customers and partners (either in person or via conference calls) with Account Executives when a technical resource is needed

Maintain positive customer relations throughout the sales process in support of earning customers current and future business and trust

Technical liaison between customer and product and operations team to ensure supportable solutions and designs

Competencies

Minimum of 5-7 years sales engineering experience (or equivalent) in the Data Center or Colocation industry with an in-depth understanding of the sales process

Strong in-depth working knowledge of data center infrastructure and management, mechanical and electrical systems

Comfortable with modeling different solutions based on kilowatt delivery to a customer environment

Network, cloud services, storage, and experience with other technologies found in our customers environments highly desired

General understanding of telecommunication terms (telecom platform and delivery options)

Experience in selling complex solutions

ROI/TCO experience with selling outsourced solutions

Product knowledge - knowing and explaining product features/benefits and competitive position, understanding customer's business operations and needs, understanding and responding to the competition, gathering and applying market knowledge

History of successfully presenting to senior-level prospect and customer contacts

Independent working, decisions making, effective organizational, and written and verbal communication skills

Ability to gain trust and respect of coworkers, customers, partners, and vendors

Easily adaptable to a fast-paced business environment.

Successful in a team environment and you promote/encourage open communication
