The Springs Living is looking for a person with strong accounting, problem solving, critical thinkingand leadership skills to join our Accounting team as an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manageris responsible for ensuring that the accounting for all TSL related entities is completed in accordance with GAAP, is accurateand timely, that all vendors are paid timely, and that the Controller and CFO have data and information necessary to appropriately manage the Company’s cash position. This position requires considerable knowledge of accounting principles, systems and accounting data flow, and requires advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills. This position works closely withother members of the Accounting Team, members of the operations teamand the communities.Itprovides leadership to its direct reports on the accounting team.

Specifically:

  1. Provide leadership and guidance to the accountants, ensuring all deadlines are met, accounting data is accurate and fully supported, reconciliations are comprehensive, and transactions are appropriately recorded and accounted for.
  2. Review all financial packets monthly to ensure balances are fully supported and appropriate, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of each entity.
  3. Provide support to the Controller and management team on the appropriate accounting for complex transactions (e.g. legal reorganizations, loan closings), which requires an understanding of the companies’ legal structures.
  4. Provide leadership and guidance to the accounts payable team, ensuring all deadlines are met, and vendors are paid accurately and timely.
  5. Assist in developing and maintaining efficient and effective accounting policies, processes and systems.
  6. Provide support in cash management to the Controller and CFO.
  7. Provide back-up support for banking infrastructure and on-line banking platforms.
  8. Provide supervisory support to your direct reports, including training, coaching, mentoring, and timely and constructive performance reviews.
  9. Manage and complete projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 7years in depth accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting and industry experience, and at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • CPA preferred
  • Effective leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge and application of accounting principles (GAAP) and internal control procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
  • Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines, by utilizing strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience and proficiency with a fully integrated accounting system
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook applications
  • Demonstrated advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills
