The Siskiyou School, a vibrant Waldorf K–8 school, is seeking a warm and capable long-term substitute 3rd Grade Class Teacher to cover a maternity leave from March 1 through June 9, 2026. Located on a two-acre campus in the heart of Ashland, the Siskiyou School offers a rich and collegial environment where teachers are supported to bring their best to their work and to the children. Plus, the weather this time of year in Ashland is beautiful!
This is a lovely, well-formed, and delightful class of 21 bright students who are eager learners and a joy to teach. The position includes full-time main lesson teaching responsibilities, with support from our experienced specialty teachers, mentors, and administrative team.
Position Duration: March 1 - June 9, 2026
Salary Range: $12,438-$13,913 based on previous experience
Instructional areas during this time include three Main Lesson Blocks, reading groups, form drawing, painting, and enrichment.
Components of spring teaching duties include: weekly faculty meetings, coordination of Auction Project, May Day Festival, participation in Jog-a-thon, supervision duties, parent-teacher conferences and reports with support, Main Lesson bookbinding, Moving Day, and communication with families.
Qualifications: Waldorf teacher certificate and classroom experience, plus a love of children and a collaborative spirit.
