Magpie Preschool House is an in-home preschool in SE Portland serving 16 children ages 2-5. We provide a playful, constructivist, inquiry-based approach to early childhood education. With a curriculum that honors diversity and individuality, Magpie graduates know the value of community and feel confident in their unique identities, strengths and in their ability to affect change.
We love to play outside, work in our garden, help cook lunch, have tea parties, create art, invent new games, find bugs, have dance parties, tell stories, solve problems, help our community and learn about each other.
We are looking for someone who:
Is experienced with Child-led or Constructivist approaches
Is patient and understanding when interacting with children.
Can interact professionally and warmly with parents and families.
Brings their own experiences and interests to the classroom.
Is self-motivated and excited to contribute to the learning of young people.
Is open to collaborating with co-teachers.
Loves to be silly, play and be outdoors!
This is a full-time position for 40 hours a week with Monday through Friday availability.
