This reputable business's Accounting Clerk position handles matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This permanent role is for an Accounting Clerk in the Portland, Oregon, area. The company boasts terrific benefits, a wonderful work space/office, and a dynamic team culture.Key responsibilitiesClassify documents with the proper expenditure codes and accounting codes
Manually or electronically post financial information
Assist with general accounting tasks, including G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, and other ad hoc projects
Resolve discrepancies by examining possible sources of disagreement, recreating likely actions, and identifying the effect on other accounts; generate correction documents as required
Produce statements and reports using a variety of sources
Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipts, and help with collection of past due balances to support Accounts Receivable
Assist accounts payable with vendor invoices and disbursement filing and with A/P invoice matching & filing
Assist with other related duties and special projects as assigned Requirements - AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
5+ years of accounting experience required
Strong familiarity with month end closings
Comprehensive knowledge of Job Cost
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus
Outstanding data entry skills
