Day Shift at our Central Kitchen

Origami Catering is a Portland-based company that provides grab & go sushi to grocery markets, schools, hospitals, and corporate dining. Our mission is to create exciting solutions with food. We are looking for a Prep Cook to join us in our central kitchen! Our kitchen is different from that of a restaurant, your role will be to help prep sushi ingredients (seafood, vegetables, sauces, sushi rice) as well as make some of the products for daily deliveries. Position: P/T Prep Cook

Status: 3-4 days/week; 21-32 hrs/week, MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY

Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm

Job duties:

Prep vegetables, seafood, sushi rice, sauces

Make salad rolls, poke bowls, etc.

Package retail products

Assist kitchen team with organizing inventory, cleaning, and dishwashing

Adhere to company, state, and local food safety regulations

Be friendly, positive, and have a team mindset

Qualifications:

Over 1 year experience in a commercial/restaurant kitchen preferred

Basic knife skills are a must

Experience with hot foods is preferred

Experience cutting down salmon fillets a huge plus

Dependable, punctual, and can work with a sense of urgency

Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

Must wear non-slip shoes

Must be able to stand for the full shift and lift 50 lbs.

No jewelry or artificial nails of any kind are allowed in the kitchen during production and beard/hairnets are to be worn at all times.
