Floating resident care manager position in SW Portland Adult Care Home

for 5 elderly residents Sunday-Tuesday 6am-8pm $22.00 per hour (you must stay in the home for the 3/24 hour shifts) OR there is a live-in resident care manager possibility for 1 person which includes a large bedroom with full bathroom including shower and large walk-in closet. The days are the same… Sunday thru Tuesday 6am-8pm $3,000 per month. We have a nightshift caregiver, so you will sleep at night.

Our care home is staffed with 2 caregivers during the day, so we have the ability to spend quality time with our residents.

Qualifications to be an RCM include:

Have 3 years of verifiable work experience working in a level 3 care home or with people that required assistance in 4 or more ADL’s. (You will not qualify with the state to become a resident care manager if you do not have 3 years verifiable work experience with level 3 residents. )

Have a strong desire to spend time with the elderly population is a must

Ability to work well with others and enjoy being part of a team

Possess the personality traits of patience, kindness, respect, reliability, trustworthiness, self-discipline, and integrity

Enjoy engaging with the residents through conversation, companionship and activities on a daily basis

Ability to follow a Person-Centered Care Model ensuring a focus on the resident’s capabilities and independence

Ability to assist people who may be dependent in 4 or more activities of daily living including: toileting, bathing, dressing, hygiene, eating, and behavior management in a safe manner for both you and the resident.

Have the desire to cook nutritious meals and snacks according to the menu

Ability to document facility records such as: medical records, care plans, narratives, activity records, fire drills etc…

Ability to follow the resident’s care plans to ensure the resident’s needs and wants are being met

Have a good work ethic

Be able to take direction and work well with others

Be in good physical condition (must be able to help transfer and turn residents in bed when needed)

Have reliable transportation

Have the ability to read, write and speak English

Have the ability to communicate effectively with the residents, staff, family and healthcare professionals

Take and pass the EQC exam, attend AFH orientation and other requirements to qualify to be an RCM

Be able to pass a criminal records background check

Have proof of Covid-19 vaccinations

CPR/First Aid Certified
