We are looking for reliable bark blowing truck drivers. An insurable driving record and Class B license is a must. We are a service company and all driving is local. Do more than just drive a truck! This job looks like a little of everything, but would consist largely of bark blowing (applying the bark products to customers’ yards), delivering products to clients’ homes, light machinery maintenance, operating equipment and occasionally helping customers in our retail yard.
We are Bark Blowers Inc. (a family owned company with 36 years in the landscape supply business). We specialize in selling bark dust, soil, rock, etc. to primarily residential properties in the SW Portland area. We are located in Tigard, just off highway 217.
Our work space is casual and our work week runs 6AM-5PM (depending on when it gets light), 6 days a week during the yard and gardening season (March - October), and 8AM-4PM 5 days a week in the off season (November - February).
This is a full time position of approximately 40 hrs/week, but it may be less in the off season or more in the summer. Depending, we could be flexible with work hours.
We are looking for compatible team players with people skills and the willingness to learn. Everyone here does a little bit of everything, so adaptability and a positive, can-do attitude are musts! Previous knowledge of the industry is wonderful, but not required. If you have a great attitude, we are happy to train the right person!
Our ideal candidate:
— has a clean, insurable driving record, at least a Class B license, and is comfortable driving & operating larger machinery (including dump trucks & front loaders)
— enjoys talking with people, providing information and being helpful with a friendly disposition
— is willing to take on new challenges & is a team player
— doesn’t mind getting dirty or dusty
— is able to effectively communicate and multitask with frequent interruptions
