Title: Environmental Field Technician
Status: Full-time, permanent- dependent upon completion of a 90-day introduction period.
Location: SW Portland HQ, landscaping and restoration throughout the Portland metro area and beyond.
Transportation: Provide transportation to HQ, carpool provided to work sites and back.
Summary: Working as part of a team executing native habitat restoration and landscaping tasks with safety and quality expected.
Compensation: $21/hr. upon hire, subject to increase to $23 per hour after 90 days. Further raises can be reached for length of service and completion of company set goals, up to $27 per hour.
Essential Duties:
Mechanical and physical control of noxious weeds
Plant bare-root trees and shrubs
Install container plants, plugs, and bulbs
Maintain native tree and shrub plantings using hand-tools and power tools
Perform site preparation using a variety of power equipment
Repair, clean, and maintain all hand and power tools in operating condition
Load and unload vehicles and trailers with all required equipment
Other duties as requested
Experience/Qualifications (Required):
Ability to work 6 to 9 hours of physical labor
Ability to work outdoors across uneven terrain during inclement weather
Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Experience using hand and power tools (chainsaw, shovel, etc.)
Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs.
Valid driver's license & ability to safely operate motor vehicles
