Part-time/on call Farm hand needed! Located near Oxbow Park in Gresham. We are a private hobby farm in search for a part-time/fill-in person to help with horses and dogs care, a few shifts per week to start and opportunity for more in the future. Horse experience is a must!
Hello, we are looking for a part-time person who lives close to the farm to feed horses and clean stalls a few days a week. Split shifts are required. Typical shifts are 8 to 10 AM and 4 to 6 PM. This position is perfect for a student or someone with horse experience looking to get out of the house a few hours a day on the farm!
We have three well-behaved but lively horses, five happy farm dogs, and a handful of chickens who occasionally need looking after when the owner isn’t available.
Typical shifts includes turning in and out Horses, cleaning stalls and paddocks, feeding horses, and giving medication, occasional wound care, basic grooming, and tidying in the barn. You should be comfortable with large dogs as you will need to feed them and let out on occasion. Other task might include feeding the chickens, cleaning the chicken coop, cleaning the dog kennel, and occasionally holding for the farrier or vet.
Must be comfortable, lifting up to 65 pounds, handling horses, and dogs, and operating a Kabota. This is a physical position and you will be on your own at times, so experience and self management is a must.
