Tucker Maxon has an amazing team of people whose talents and skills support a vibrant preschool and elementary school filled with active children. The Finance Director reports to our Executive Director and is a part of the Senior Leadership Team. This is a full time, exempt position working in person at our school. The Finance Director has a part time assistant, and provides services for a staff of 35, and manages a $2.4 M budget.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree. CPA preferred, but not required

Minimum 5 years experience as a finance director for a non-profit organization or small business with a proven record of success

High level of computer literacy including experience in Quickbooks online and Microsoft Office. Experience with Donor Perfect and FACTS school information system preferred.

Experience with nonprofit audits and preparation of 990s is required.

Experience in Employee Benefits administration

Strong communication skills, ability to communicate numbers and finance requirements to non-finance experts

Self-motivated, demonstrated skill in professional interactions, proactive approach to planning for peak times and requirements, ability to maintain confidentiality when needed

Enjoy working with and contributing to a larger, multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of accounting, reconciliation and financial management under the oversight of the Executive Director and the Finance Committee of the Board.

Manage all AP, AR, P&L and Balance sheet entries

Accountable for monthly financial reporting to the Executive Director and Board Finance committee

Accountable for monthly staff payroll using Paychex service

Conduct Open Enrollment benefits process for employees

Oversee annual budgeting process

Oversee audit and 990 process with CPA.

Manage student financial aid application process

Assist in processes for Preschool For All families

Responsible for the school's adherence to Tuition Payment policies.

Works in collaboration with Development team on program budgets for grant proposals

Oversees annual tuition comparison survey for private preschool and elementary schools

Salary: $85,000-$90,000/year DOE/CPA plus generous health and retirement benefits. Apply no later than 11/26/25. Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately. Please attach a cover letter and references.
