Position: Mobile Counselor III (Project Respond/DHS)

Role Overview:

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of those experiencing behavioral health crises? Join us as a Mobile Counselor III, where you'll provide essential crisis intervention for adults and children accessing the Department of Human Services. You'll also offer support to DHS staff impacted by client behavior. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team, including a Peer Support Specialist, and works with a trauma-informed, strength-based approach in collaboration with Multnomah County’s Acute Care Continuum. Our goal is to reduce traditional police contact by delivering high-quality care to everyone, regardless of insurance, income, race, age, or physical ability, and to support crisis de-escalation and connection to community-based services.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide crisis intervention and support for individuals and families in behavioral health crises.

Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver trauma-informed care.

Support DHS staff affected by client behavior.

Help link individuals to necessary community-based services.

Promote de-escalation and reduce the need for police involvement.
