We are hiring a Support Services Specialist to join our growing non-profit! NWPP is a fun and supportive organization that provides meaningful impact within the Portland community.

Here at NW Pilot Project, we are looking to fill the role of Support Services Specialist that begins immediately. The Support Services Specialist coordinates and provides community-based services to Housing Program participants to increase long-term housing stability.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and provide supportive services with goal of increased housing stability for NWPP clients. Supportive services include home visits, connection to community and medical resources, and coordination of housekeeping and inspection-related services.

Provide assistance with housing applications, advocacy with landlords, furniture, moving assistance, and move-in kits to households receiving permanent housing placement and/or eviction prevention services.

Work with JVC/Americorps volunteer, Development Coordinator, and Program Director to develop a strategy and process for expanding volunteer participation in NWPP’s Retention Team. Work with Assessment Specialists and Housing Case Managers to identify new client needs. Coordinate assignments with JVC/Americorps volunteer and other volunteers.

Engage with and respond to landlords and community partners in a timely, positive and professional manner.

Work cooperatively with Transportation Coordinator to ensure client transportation needs are met.

Provide front desk coverage one day a week and as a backup for the Access Specialist during vacations and sick time.

Provide data gathering and data entry support to Program Director to track placement and prevention outputs and retention outcomes for Housing Program. Monitor, update, and organize data from continuous client feedback surveys.

Maintain timely, accurate, and appropriate documentation of services in Multnomah County’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

Actively participate in the weekly Housing Program meeting and the monthly All-Staff meeting. Work cooperatively with colleagues and contribute ideas to improve and support the work of the program and organization.

Provide services in a manner consistent with NWPP mission and values, and using best practices. Actively participate in ongoing trainings relevant to the shared work of the organization.

Engage in meaningful training, self-examination, and action directed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion on institutional, interpersonal, and intrapersonal levels, particularly in the areas of race and ethnicity.

Other duties as assigned.

Adherence to current Personnel Policies of the agency.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience working effectively with adults from diverse backgrounds and cultures, a minimum of one year directly providing social services to low-income households, interest in working directly with people who may be experiencing a variety of challenges including poverty, aging, homelessness, and significant health issues, will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience working with computers, databases, and commonly used software, and will have the ability to pass a background check.

It is preferred that the candidate have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, familiarity with Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and maintain a sense of humor.

Details: This is a full-time position with a salary of $58,298 + excellent benefits and an emphasis on wellness.
