We're looking for a Carpenter, someone thats worked as a helper, Apprentice of sorts.
We have multiple carpentry crews & painting crews. We primarily repair what's needed(steps, rails, siding, trim, fascias, structural, dry rot, and flashing details as well as offer modifications; lite remodeling, and thoughtful CO's; arbors, fencing, decks/re-wrap,, aesthetic accents, etc We work on old beautiful homes (and newer ones), and some commercial.
The ideal candidate has some experience in the carpentry realm, wants to learn the carpentry trade, enjoys spending their days on random repair scopes on nice homes, can work independently, and keep the project going when the lead carpenter has something else todo. We structure our repairs, so there’s helper as needed, otherwise it’s a 2-3 person crew or single person with a short list Nonetheless, we need another lynch pin Carpenter to keep everyone up to speed and on track.
Daily activities include:
Work directly with Project Manager/lead carpenter/estimator.
Professionalism with Clients: (appearance and communication).
Help inspect/build scopes w/PM, source premium/era materials, perform work orders, and post daily updates.
Safety inspection(for paint crews too); build/Erect/address access needs: Install Roof harness rings, install roof jacks at dormers, or engineer as needed:
Re-Build and/or repair other wooden features in buildings using hand tools and power tools.
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, pillars, railings, and trim, or hardware.
- adding flashing to penetrations: understanding rain screens so buildings breath and shed water.
Not a fan of Finger jointed prime/cheap materials, and appreciate quality scope considerations: We use real wood, we prime, flash, install, and caulk appropriately. Not a fan of cutting corners or shotty work(unless the clients on board).
