Cojon LLC is a growing commercial steel fabrication and install company. We have an 18,000 sqft fabrication shop in Vancouver but, also do a lot of on-site work all over the Portland/ Vancouver area.

Job Summary:

As the Fabrication Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities within our fabrication shop, ensuring the timely and high-quality production of products, as well as managing day-to-day operations. You will lead a team of skilled fabricators, coordinate workflow, and maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring efficient and safe workflow.

Lead, train, and supervise a team of fabricators and production staff.

Schedule and prioritize work orders based on production needs and customer deadlines.

Ensure all safety protocols and standards are followed in the shop.

Oversee inventory management, ensuring materials and supplies are adequately stocked.

Monitor production quality and troubleshoot any issues or delays.

Maintain and repair equipment as needed to ensure optimal performance.

Work closely with project managers and other departments to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.

Review and approve production schedules, material requisitions, and labor costs.

Maintain shop cleanliness and organization in accordance with company policies.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shop productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience (10+ years) in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, tools, equipment, and materials.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a fabrication setting.

Proficient in using shop management software and other relevant tools.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with fabricaiton equipment including saws & welding machines.

Familiarity with welding quality control procedures

Forklift and/or equipment certifications.
