VW/Porsche Automotive Restoration Technician

Join a small, quality driven team restoring classic Porsche and VW vehicles. You will help with everything from service and diagnosis to full teardown and reassembly. Metal and rust repair skills are very helpful.

What you will do

Support full restorations including drivetrain, suspension, brakes, fuel, and electrical

Disassemble engines and mechanical systems, document parts, and prepare for rebuild

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues and perform road tests and final tuning

Perform rust repair and chassis work on unibody cars

Weld using MIG and TIG on 22, 20, and 18 gauge mild steel

Reconstruct and metal finish structural and exterior panels using best practices

Keep clear records of time, materials, parts, and work performed

Coordinate with outside vendors for coating, refinishing, paint, and body

Helpful Experience

Work on classic VW Porsche platforms such as Volkswagen Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 and Porsche 356, 911, 912, 914 four, 914 six

Tuning Weber IDF and Dellorto DRLA carburetors

Bosch fuel injection including D Jet, L Jet, K Jet, and Motronic

TIG welding stainless and aluminum nice to have

Programmable aftermarket fuel injection

What you bring

Three or more years in restoration or specialty service or strong hands on experience that shows you can do the work

Solid mechanical diagnosis and repair across engines, transaxles, suspension, fuel, brake, and electrical systems

Knowledge of unibody metal and rust repair and proper metal finishing

Ability to read factory manuals, wiring diagrams, and chassis references and to research online when needed

Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record

References upon request

Nice to have

Experience rebuilding air cooled VW and Porsche engines

ASE certification or trade school training or equivalent experience

Pay and perks

Competitive pay $35 to $50 dollars per hour depending on experience
