Lile Moving and Storage in Salem is hiring now for a Dispatcher.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Schedule drivers, helpers and equipment to meet daily job requirements. Prepare work assignment schedules and assign shifts based on routine as well as special customer needs in order to maintain adequate labor levels.
2. Reviews job requirements so as to assign most qualified crew.
3. Manage training programs for drivers.
4. Assures compliance with state and federal regulations; reviews and enforces company policies established to meet DOT requirements regarding hours and trip logging. Assists in driver qualification procedures; maintains proper qualifications (personally) to perform necessary job functions; inspects warehouse to ensure industry standards and federal codes are met.
5. Performs administrative duties, maintains daily records on personnel and equipment usage; approves and enters timecards according to company payroll procedures. Prepares paperwork for shipments.
6. Interacts with customers, salespersons and shippers as required to ensure quality service.
7. Supervise branch safety programs designed to achieve accident-free operations.
8. Assists on jobs as required to meet deadlines; review procedures to suggest improvements; performs job inspections to assure employee compliance with work rules, training and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
1. 2-3 years dispatch experience, preferably in the household goods moving and storage business. Valid commercial driver license a plus!
2. Able to fully utilize Microsoft Office Suite; willing and able to learn new computer and software programs.
3. Able to apply basic principles and techniques of supervisor. Able to plan and organize activities of others.
4. Able to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications.
5. Knowledge of DOT regulations as they affect branch operations. Thorough knowledge of requirements for drivers’ logging of trips.
6. Knowledge of moving and transportation industry a must.
7. Must be able to work effectively with little supervision, able to analyze job requirements and make sound decisions; must have the flexibility and temperament to deal with demand changes in a professional manner.
8. Excellent attendance is required.
