In this role, you will lead the team in performing manual labor and operating heavy equipment to maintain and repair highways. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and overseeing a team of workers who operate heavy construction equipment and use hand tools to carry out various highway maintenance tasks. These tasks include patching, crack sealing, shoulder stabilization and repair, installation and cleaning of drainage pipe, guide rail installation, roadway sweeping, litter pickup, filling potholes, roadway widening, complaint investigation and resolution, and directing emergency response to snow and ice, storm damage, or vehicle accidents. Additionally, you will select and direct use of appropriate work zone traffic control setups and take the lead in maintaining a safe work environment for self, crews and motoring public by following proper safety procedures and utilization of equipment.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1; or

Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.
