If so, this may be the opportunity for you. We are looking for a Junior Investment Professional to join our Public Markets team at PSERS. The Pennsylvania Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS, www.psers.pa.gov), is an agency in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that administers the pension plan for Pennsylvania's public school employees. The mission of PSERS is to maintain a financially sound System that supports over a half million members with a current pension fund of approximately $70+ billion. This position will play a contributing part in ensuring PSERS fulfills its mission and values.PSERS is located in Harrisburg, PA, a mid-size city situated along the Susquehanna River. Teleworking is optional, with an occasional need to report to the Harrisburg office as operationally necessary. If requesting to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and be located in Pennsylvania. The Harrisburg area is affordable and near many attractions including Hershey, and it is only two hours from major cities and airports like Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.Junior Investment Professionals may qualify for automatic promotion to Intermediate Investment Professional based upon established longevity and performance criteria.DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position will support the public markets portfolio management team in all aspects of the investment management process as it relates to external manager oversight, including monitoring, evaluating and sourcing investment managers across the public markets asset classes (equities, fixed income and real assets). The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and technical acumen. Excellent analytic and communication skills are required. The junior investment professional will be part of a larger investment team of over 60 individuals; strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work ethic are essential. This position supports the broader Investment Office team in all aspects of the related investment management process, including investment strategy and implementation across a broad range of asset classes. In this capacity, the position is expected to garner exposure to most or all of PSERS' various investment types which span public and private markets, including internally and externally managed accounts and span equities, fixed income, and real assets.Interested in learning more?Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, dependent on operational and executive leadership requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree; or four years performing relevant investment operations or investment risk work; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Successful completion of any of the following professional acc editations may be substituted for relevant work experience:
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA): 1 year per level passed
Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA): 1 year
Financial Risk Manager (FRM): 1 year per level passed
Professional Risk Manager (PRM): 1 year
Additional Requirement:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, data science, or economics
3 credits or more of college coursework in relevant investment analysis
Internship or comparable 3 months or more of work experience in performing relevant investment analysis
Experience using Microsoft Excel or a comparable spreadsheet program
Completion of at least one level towards one or more of the following certifications: CFA, FRM, CAIA, or PRM
