Philly Clinic - Receptionist/Phlebotomist – Per Diem-Day Shift- 8a-4p–Req 7784Pay Range: $17.45-$22.25Receptionist: Schedules appointments, answers telephone and prioritizes and relays messages as appropriate. When scheduling appointments and if the schedule allows, receptionist will proactively look at future dates and call patients to offer sooner appointments to keep schedules full and improve access to care. Registers patients, distributes Bill of Rights, consents, in-services information, routine instruction, and assist patients with filling out forms, etc. A transport, sorts, opens and distributes mails. Pulls and files Medical Records and billing information. Complies with established policies and procedures. Orders supplies with supervisor’s approval and keeps necessary logs and forwards complaints and/or incidents immediately to supervisor.Phlebotomist: Receives outpatient specimens for laboratory analysis. Accurately transcribes orders from physician prescriptions to laboratory requisition. Obtains patient blood from outpatients (all ages). Assist in testing and other lab tests as deemed appropriate and within their scope of practice. Assists technicians and technologists in running/processing specimen testing. Answers the telephone and gives reports, schedules tests and directs calls to proper location as needed. Maintains safety regulations and cleanliness standards within the section. Follows hospital and laboratory policies. Maintain point of care (POC) compliance across all clinic labs and track staff competencies, and other pertinent tracking reports. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.Qualifications
6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferably one year of office/phlebotomy experience in the medical field.
Must possess knowledge of age specific needs and growth and development requirements for the infant through geriatric age population served as is relevant to Laboratory procedures.
Previous experience in the medical secretarial field desirable.
Possession of strong organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
