If a position is listed with both office locations and virtual offerings, Comcast may be willing to consider candidates who live greater than 100 miles from the office for the remote option.)Job SummaryJob DescriptionDUTIES: Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software and web applications using Core Java to operate in a multi-threaded environment that supports thread pooling; use HTTP and Web Protocols including GET and POST; design systems and subsystems using UML; work with microservice architecture and technologies; triage and troubleshoot issues in a DevOps environment; use Linux and JavaScript; analyze technical requirements; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software using Core Java; operating in a multi-threaded environment that supports thread pooling; using HTTP and Web protocols including GET and POST; of which three (3) years include designing systems and subsystems using UML; working with microservice architecture and technologies; triaging and troubleshooting issues in a DevOps environment; of which one (1) year includes using Linux and JavaScript; and analyzing technical requirements. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, the employer will accept an additional two (2) years of experience developing software using Core Java.Disclaimer:
