Areas of particularly high interest include a focus on molecular virology of integrated provirus, AI/bioinformatics approaches to viral escape, studies on sex/co-morbidities or aging as determinants to viral persistence, and immunotherapy. Candidates with research focuses using novel tools and approaches for target identification/validation, pathogenesis, approaches in humanized mice or other novel animal models, in vivo screening systems, CRISPR-Cas/editing, single cell and immune profiling approaches are encouraged to apply.Applicants who have established strong publication track records and a trajectory toward or established independent research supported by extramural funding are of high priority. The successful candidates will be expected to pursue extramurally-funded competitive research programs with a primary focus on basic and/or translational studies in the context of HIV Cure and Viral Diseases.The Wistar Institute is an exceptional institute for advancing a career in research.
