The Advisor will engage with administrative, clinical and research leadership though supporting strategic planning, business planning, capacity planning, and internal and external market analysis. The Advisor works with leaders inside and outside the Strategic Planning department to develop analytical models, synthesize data, and prepare actionable reports and business plans. The Advisor also maintains complex databases for the department and mines data from various sources including internal financial and patient databases, and external clinical, competitive, research and claims databases to conduct analyses to support strategy development. The Advisor keeps abreast of industry trends, continually communicates the impact of these trends to CHOP, and identifies/triages new business opportunities based on interpretation of external trends and internal opportunities.What you will do

Support enterprise and departmental strategic planning

Facilitate identification and prioritization of strategies

Complete market and demographic assessments by conducting primary and secondary market research, profiling program and system competitors, and developing geospatial assessments

Synthesize findings into actionable reports. Develop and prepare intelligence briefs, market and future scans to support leadership in strategic and operational decision making

Ensure alignment of and communication with key stakeholders by facilitating discussion and driving collaboration

Partner with clinical and business leaders on the development of strategic and business plans for clinical and non-clinical programs

Build productive and positive relationships with key leaders, understand key challenges and opportunities, and collaborate on developing strategic solutions

Partner on key analyses and content development (e.g., competitive positioning and return on investment analyses)

Assist or lead meetings and the development of presentation materials

Prepare and present analysis to small or large group meetings Be highly responsive to customer needs and maintain the relationship

Manage data and analytics to support planning activities

Perform regular and ad-hoc analyses to support strategic planning, including:

Perform long-range capacity planning, projection and scenario analysis

Develop and update local, regional and national market scans and trend reports

Monitor performance of CHOP departments and partnerships and provide update reports

Develop program-specific volume, financial and operational analyses

Coordinating with external vendors (e.g., Truven) and IT team to obtain market and internal databases

Collaborate with IT team to load, maintain and QA planning databases using database best practices; annuall or as needed, update and aggregate market and internal data feeds into appropriate databases

Coordinate data collection for internal and external surveys

Prepare data requests

Review data and ensure accuracy

Compile survey data and prepare information for review by senior leadership

Lead presentation of results and drive toward actionable insights/Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Required

Master's Degree Business Administration, Health Administration or related field PreferredExperience Qualifications

At least three (3) years experience in strategy, business planning and data analysis required

Previous experience in healthcare required

Hospital operations and financial planning experience preferred

Experience from a consulting firm preferredSkills and Abilities

Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills with ability to synthesize disparate sources of data

Outstanding analysis skills - both quantitative and qualitative

Outstanding communication skills, including oral, written and presentation. Ability to synthesize complex trends into easy-to-understand communications.

Ability to work collaboratively in a complex matrixed organization

Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of others and prepare work products appropriate for varied stakeholders

Must be able to work independently to drive and complete projects in an efficient and timely manner

Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards; personal and professional integrity above reproach

Strong database (SQL or Access) management and data mining skills

Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word

Intermediate user of ArcGIS or similar mapping software
