Job Title: Machine Operator
Entry Wage Range: $16.50 to $18 per hour for entry level. Shift Differential for 2nd Shift Work!
Job Summary:
Our machine operators our the backbone of our team and one of the reasons we have been able to maintain such high standards in our business. The ideal candidate for our machine operator position will be comfortable taking an assortment of materials and safely transforming them by using various machines based on the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a team effort - you'll be working under the guidance of a supervisor and managerno one goes alone at our facility!
You'll be working on various slitters and/or die cutters, and training starts on day 1! You'll learn to set up and run a variety of work orders and how to read and understand all the drawings that go along to help you understand our customer requirements!
Data is important to us, so you'll need to be able to use various measuring devices to ensure product is set up correctly, and finished parts are compliant with customer specifications. Plus you'll have maintain logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistenciesdon't worry, we'll give you a refresher on how to read those measuring devices if it's been a while!
Very important that everyone follows safety guidelines and regulations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read work instructions and drawings in English and actively communicate with coworkers in English.
As stated above, this is a team environment, we need people who are ready, willing, and able to follow directions and work well in a team.
We have found that individuals who have basic ability in science, mathematics, reading, and writing are going to do well in this role. Basic computer usage is required while on the job.
We have 1st and 2nd shift positions available!
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing required. Some squatting or kneeling may be required depending on the machine set up.
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds 75% of time. Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds 40% of the time. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds up to 25% of the time. Assistance provided for lifting 50 pounds.
Must have manual dexterity to set up blades, feel material, and work measuring devices.
Must have ability to differentiate between colors when working with certain products on the lever.
Must be able to communicate in a factory setting that occasionally gets very loud.
