Lifeguards (Part-time)
Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety, and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Certifications — MUST possess a current YMCA Lifeguard or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification that includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid. You will be required to obtain an Oxygen Administration Certification within 30 days of hire. Must have the ability to maintain the certifications and level of physical and mental readiness.
Must demonstrate Lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA Standards

Shifts Needed immediately: Wednesday Evenings: 4 - 8 p.m.
Saturdays: 2-5 p.m.
Pay Rate: $9.50 - must be certified
Weekend rate of pay $11
General Function: The Lifeguard’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of all swimmers at all times through preventive and responsive practices. Secondary responsibilities include ensuring the highest standard and cleanliness of the pool tank, pool deck and natatorium fixtures. The incumbent is a team player who demonstrates strong decision-making, leadership, interpersonal and verbal communication skills. The incumbent accepts and demonstrates the YMCA character values of Honesty, Caring Responsibility and Respect.
The candidate must accept and demonstrate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks commensurate with the position requirements.

All positions require the ability to obtain PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Fingerprint and National Sex Offenders Registry Clearances. If you do not have current clearances the Y will help you obtain them.
