The Shop Diesel Mechanic Foreman is responsible for overseeing the inspection, repair, maintenance of all mobile equipment used in company operations. A primary goal is to minimize production downtime by ensuring that equipment operates safely and efficiently. This role requires strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, transmissions & various other mechanical componentry.
The Mechanic Foreman will lead daily shop operations, supervise maintenance personnel, and ensure compliance with company & regulatory safety standards.
As a key technical advisor, the Foreman will diagnose issues, implement preventative and corrective maintenance and work to optimize equipment uptime. Strong leadership, effective team management, and strong interpersonal skills are essential for maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external partners. Additional responsibilities include assisting in purchasing decisions for mobile equipment, as well as recommending improvements to maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and performance.
