As a licensed Electrician on the Residential team, you will play a critical role in our solar operations. Your responsibilities will include installing and commissioning new solar installations, electrical service equipment, wiring, battery storage systems, and EV chargers, troubleshooting system issues, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. This versatile role is instrumental in enhancing processes and supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our residential solar installations.
In this role, you'll get to:
Lead the installation of electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices required for residential solar PV systems
Train and mentor junior team members on proper electrical installation techniques and safety practices
Install electrical components including solar modules, inverters, main service panels, load centers, disconnects, junction boxes, combiner boxes, and monitoring equipment
Wire and integrate battery storage systems, electrical upgrades, and EV chargers, ensuring full compliance with system requirements and interconnection standards
Interpret and implement electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and site plans to guide precise system installations
Conduct electrical testing including voltage verification, continuity checks, system performance analysis, and basic commissioning
Ensure all electrical work meets company specifications, quality standards, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and local jurisdictional requirements
Manage on-site material organization, equipment readiness, and ensure job sites are clean, safe, and properly staged for work
Maintain detailed records of installation progress, including photos, reports, and system documentation
Communicate effectively with project managers, operations teams, and homeowners regarding project status and expectations
Supervise installation teams onsite, provide mentorship to junior electricians and helpers, and maintain a culture of safety, efficiency, and professionalism
Uphold all company policies and lead by example in following safety regulations and protocols
Keep company vehicles well-maintained, fully stocked, and properly serviced
Follow all safety regulations and policies to ensure a safe working environment
Adhere to all of Lumina’s company policies and ensure that all safety protocols are followed
Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License
Must have at least 2 years of recent residential electrical experience; solar experience is a plus
Experience training and mentoring junior team members
Knowledge of electrical systems, both AC and DC, including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly
Ability to troubleshoot electrical installation projects
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Ability to read and interpret Electrical line drawings
Ability to read building plans and equipment manuals
Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces
Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required
Proven track record of reliable attendance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina
Note:
A company vehicle is provided for work-related use during scheduled hours; however, a take-home vehicle is not included with this role.
