THE POSITIONAre you a detail-oriented individual with a knack for juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines, even in high-pressure situations? The Department of Corrections (DOC) is currently seeking a highly motivated Corrections Records Specialist to maintain and verify inmate records for the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Corrections Records Specialist, you will be assigned to the Records office and will be responsible for maintaining accurate and current inmate legal files, also known as DC-15 master files. This will involve analyzing court documents to create or revise sentence structures and calculations, reviewing commitment credit time periods for legality, revising sentence calculations when changes are made, updating inmate criminal histories, conducting interviews with inmates, and communicating with criminal justice agencies. Additionally, you will review inmate cases before release to ensure legality and compliance with release requirements, as well as register and fingerprint sex offenders under Megan's Law and parole violation. Other duties you will be responsible for include, but are not limited to:

Collecting information from various sources to maintain inmate records

Coordinating arrangements for the transport of inmates

Ensuring appropriate authorization is obtained for all releases

Interviewing, photographing, and fingerprinting inmates upon reception, release, and as needed throughout the duration of confinement

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Records Specialist 1 (commonwealth job title); or

Three years of clerical or correctional custodial experience including one year in a correctional facility; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of clerical or correctional custodial experience in a correctional facility.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania is required.
