THE POSITIONThe Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 6-0 is actively searching for a qualified individual to join our team as a Transportation Construction Manager 1. This exciting opportunity allows you to play a pivotal role in driving PennDOT's progress and shaping the future of transportation in Pennsylvania. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs part of this position, you will have the responsibility of overseeing a team of construction inspectors in Engineering District 6-0. Your main duties will involve performing technical tasks related to the inspection of transportation construction projects and ensuring that all work adheres to approved construction plans, standards, specifications, and contract documents. You will also serve as the inspector-in-charge for a highway construction project with a limited range of work operations or as an assistant on a larger project by supervising assigned operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising the inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards and specifications. Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor; or

Four years of experience in construction inspection, including one year in a supervisory capacity; and graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Other Requirements:

This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
