Position: Lead Cloud Infrastructure / Operations Engineer - AWS Apex Job ID: 1214032 Location: Remote Rate: Negotiable based on experience Profile Summary Resolution life US is seeking a lead AWS Infrastructure / Operations engineer. The candidate will be responsible to work closely with the product owner and lead architect on the implementation and ongoing support of the company's modern cloud first AWS infrastructure. This position requires a strong technical background combined with exceptional customer service experience. The role will be a high-impact engineering role expected to work closely with teammates to ensure timely delivery and ongoing support of our AWS infrastructure, and to establish new solutions in ever evolving AWS environment. Profile Responsibilities
- Maintaining all RLUS infrastructure SLAs for production workloads including 99.9% uptime in AWS
- Maintenance and tuning of operational systems such as EC2 instances, VPCs, Cloud managed databases, IAM technologies, etc.
- Work closely with application teams to gather infrastructure needs
- Technical execution of constructing RLUS environments including infrastructure sizing, data migration, data replication, HA, and vulnerability management.
- Participate in cloud and infrastructure project design, planning, scoping, and implementation.
- Performance and cost optimization skills in AWS
- Provide strong leadership and daily work direction and mentorship to the engineering vertical.
- Identify, design, and develop automation solutions to create, manage and improve cloud infrastructure, builds, and deployments
- Serve as a technical escalation point to troubleshoot complex issues within AWS infrastructure.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting of AWS infrastructure and applications flows.
- Resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns and driving resolution
- Good organizational and time management skills facilitating the ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Continuously develop technical skills to gain mastery with the established DevOps toolchain and stay current with new services and technologies
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) using AWS CDK, Cloud Formation
- Knowledge of Python or willing to learn Python in context of developing IAC via CDK
- Design and extend management capabilities in a multi-tenant, multi-account AWS environment
- Deep experience using AWS APIs, CLI, CDK to automate infrastructure
- Design and build API services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, etc
- Experience with infrastructure and application performance monitoring, centralized logging, and application error tracking
- Experience with software containers and related technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, ECS, EKS
- Experience with load balancing and reverse proxy technologies
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
- 8+ years experience designing and implementing Infrastructure solutions
- 5+ years experience designing and implementing AWS / Cloud solutions
- Cloud infrastructure operations experience
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience
- Previous experience in Lead Engineering and Operations roles
- One or more AWS Certificates preferred for this role
