Sura Restaurant in Providence RI is looking for a full-time Sushi Chef.
The ideal candidate will work the sushi counter preparing sashimi, nigiri, and maki, ensuring quality and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will be friendly and presentable as there will be light customer interactions. Must be able to begin as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
Maintain daily operations of your assigned station
Assist in daily prep or any other assigned work
Set up station using proper recipes and ingredients
Use standard recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation
Select high quality ingredients
Maintain a good working relationship with all back of house, front of house staff, management and guests
Store all items properly at the end of shift.
Ensure a clean, neat and organized work area
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Main Chef working experience in Japanese cuisine
More than 5 years of Sushi/Sashmi experience required
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays
Strong communication skills and team-first attitude
Able to maintain a clean and professional appearance
Ability to communicate in other languages (Spanish / Korean) is a plus
