Courthouse News Service, a California-based legal news service, is seeking a reporter based in Rhode Island to cover new court filings for our daily litigation reports. A legal background is not required, but demonstrated interest and ability in journalism is necessary.
The job will entail visiting the state and federal court clerk's offices in downtown Providence every weekday afternoon to summarize new civil complaints from across the state. The reporter will also have the opportunity to write stories and features for our news website, with a focus on courts and regional stories of national interest. Competitive pay is offered for approximately 20-25 hours per week, and benefits are available.
