QLM is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for civil construction projects across the Carolinas. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in mass earthwork, highway, commercial, or industrial site development. We are specifically seeking operators skilled in excavators, GPS-enabled dozers, loading trucks, and main line pipe installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment including:
Excavators (CAT 349, 335, 330) – with or without GPS
Dozers (D6, D5, D4) – with or without GPS
Loading trucks
Main line pipe installation equipment
Perform site preparation, grading, trenching, and excavation for utility and infrastructure projects.
Follow site plans, grade stakes, and GPS systems to ensure precision and efficiency.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
Work closely with foremen and superintendents to meet project goals and timelines.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to OSHA standards.
Assist with general labor and site tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction.
Proficiency in mass earthwork, grading, trenching, and utility installation.
Experience on highway, commercial, or industrial development projects.
OSHA 10 certification required.
Equipment-specific certifications are a major plus.
Ability to read and follow site plans and GPS grading systems.
Strong safety record and commitment to job site protocols.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Charleston and Columbia.
