OverviewHVAC Technical Lead - Data Center FocusABM Mission Critical Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Technical Lead to join our growing Data Center Operations team. Lead and manage a team of HVAC technicians : Provide technical guidance, training, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure the team delivers high-quality work.

Oversee all aspects of HVAC system operations in data centers : This includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and ensuring adherence to established data center maintenance schedules and best practices (ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines, etc.).

Plan, schedule, and supervise : Plan and schedule the installation, commissioning, and testing of new HVAC equipment specific to data center needs.

Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs : Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to optimize system performance, reliability, and identify potential issues before they escalate.

Analyze system performance data : Analyze HVAC system data to identify thermal inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions to optimize cooling for sensitive IT equipment.

Lead emergency response : Lead the response to critical temperature and humidity emergencies within the data center environment, ensuring swift resolution with minimal disruption to operations.

Maintain technical expertise : Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in data center cooling technologies and best practices, including airflow management strategies and emerging trends.

Collaborate with stakeholders : Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, other technicians, and facility management teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with other data center infrastructure.

Maintain documentation : Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all data center HVAC systems.

Prioritize safety : Implement a strong safety culture within the team and ensure strict adherence to all company safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).

Minimum 7 years of experience working on HVAC systems in a commercial or industrial setting, with at least 4 years of experience in a data center environment.

Proven leadership experience in managing and motivating a team of HVAC technicians.

Demonstrated expertise in data center cooling principles and best practices (ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines, etc.) in addition to understanding of general HVAC codes and standards.

Strong understanding of airflow management strategies for maintaining consistent cooling within server racks.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Ability to lead and manage projects effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

A valid driver's license is preferred.
