Help us help others, and join Team Unum today!General Summary:This position reports into the Underwriting/New Business Manager for the processing of applications and is responsible for execution of performance plan and objectives in order to meet profitability, service and productivity goals. Primary responsibility is to release new sales at the policy and application level that failed internal processing edits and errored into the electronic data warehouse. Assist Underwriting in increasing the Jet Issue rate by processing business in the Underwriting queues. Understand and support the reinstatement, replacement, medical/MIB ordering, indexing and NPAPER processes. Provide customer service to internal and external customers such as Underwriting, Life Services, IT, Producer Compensation and other internal departments and external vendors, Agents, Brokers, Plan Administrators or customers by answering and following up on calls and research requests via phone, email and inter-office requests.Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Accurately process business received among New Business based on state assignment staying within the department and company’s goal which is reflected on the company’s Score Card (35%)

Accurately process reinstatements and replacements by gathering information provided along with maintaining reporting logs for each and researching missing information by contact of Underwriters, Account Service Representatives, and Life Services (35%)

Proficiently Index documents to the correct folders in Policy imaging, including adding DINN numbers, modifying, and editing pages when necessary, to ensure they are readily viewable by Underwriting, Account Services, and New Business (10%)

Accurately order Medical Records, MVR - Motor Vehicle Report, IR - Inspection Report, APS - Attending Physicians Statement, and MIB - Medical Information Bureau within the timeframe required by Underwriting guidelines (5%)

Ensure Agent’s compensation is paid timely by researching Electronic Business that error in the Electronic Warehouse (5%)

Ensure the Underwriting NPAPER and AGTSUB queue is monitored and all declination letters are sent to an insured within the companies guidelines (5%)

Provide customer services to external and internal customers by answering and resolving calls through the ACD line or email requests in a timely manner (5%)

May perform other duties as needed.

College degree or equivalent experience preferred

Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.$36,000.00-$59,400.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
