Boone County, located in Columbia, MO, is looking for a Payroll Administrator.Apply here: www.showmeboone.com/hrFind out more about working for Boone County here: https://youtu.be/xCtE48jgaV4-Responsibilities: Manages countywide payroll and timekeeping operations by maintaining and establishing procedures while ensuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws and regulations; serves as administrator for county timekeeping software and oversees payroll workflow, development, and process improvement; analyzes reports and data; serves as knowledge expert for timekeeping software and the payroll process.Provides training, support, and guidance to Payroll Coordinator; provides training, support and guidance to department/office payroll contacts; responds, troubleshoots, and resolves escalated and complex payroll and timekeeping system questions, issues, and problems; coordinates with Human Resources and Risk Management staff regarding employee records and recommendations on policy development related to payroll and timekeeping; works with Information Technology and other stakeholders on escalated issues and other projects as needed.Provides payroll and employee record information to employees and serves as a payroll liaison to Administrative Authorities and office/department payroll contacts; responds to escalated and complex issues about leave, overtime, withholding tax, garnishments, benefits, and retirement deductions.Maintains, updates, and reconciles tax rates, benefit and retirement adjustments, payroll records, and timekeeping functions.Status: Full-time, exempt, benefitedWorking hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of payroll or human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
