Description Our government contracting client is actively seeking a Director of Finance to join their dynamic team. This hands-on role entails leading the accounting function, ensuring compliance with financial reporting, and directly overseeing crucial aspects such as forecasting and budgeting. If you are seeking an opportunity to contribute and directly impact the financial strategy of a thriving organization, this opportunity offers the platform to do so.Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop strategies to guide business growth and profitability, oversee the thorough preparation of financial reports to support decision making, and conduct comprehensive financial analysis to determine trends and areas for improvement. Exceptional skills in risk management are required to evaluate and mitigate financial risks, implement internal controls and ensure compliance. Team Management and Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrate strong team management abilities with the task of leading and mentoring the finance team, promoting a high-performance, collaborative environment. Effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, championing strong relationships to support the achievement of financial goals and maintain compliance. Daily Financial Oversight and Management: This hands-on role requires overseeing daily financial operations such as accounts payables and receivables, payroll, and general ledger, with an emphasis on streamlining operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Technological and Software Expertise: Stay abreast with technological advancements in finance, identifying and implementing systems, and tools that improve processes and reporting. Hands-on experience with Deltek's Costpoint system is mandatory for accuracy and compliance in financial operations. Compliance and Risk Mitigation in Government Contracts: Understand and ensure financial operations align with the demands of government contracts, manage finance-related projects, communicate effectively with government bodies, train staff in the utilized systems and government contracts. Oversee internal audits to ensure effective management and reporting of government contracts.Requirements Experience in a senior finance leadership role within the government contracting industry. Proven expertise in auditing, with a focus on efficiency and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated proficiency in budget processes, including planning, execution, and monitoring. Familiarity with Costpoint and Deltek Costpoint, with a focus on maximizing their utility for financial management. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; an MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
