Job Summary

The Coding Analyst is responsible for ensuring coders have the tools and education needed to complete their work efficiently.

They are responsible for coding related clearinghouse edits that result in appropriate coding and claim submission to secure reimbursement.

The position tracks and trends inconsistencies to work toward efficiencies in process with quick and cleaner claim submission for denial prevention.

This education and communication may also include departments outside of coding.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor Degree in Health Information Administration or Associates Degree in Health Information Technology preferred.

Other acceptable certifications would include Certified Coding Specialist (CCS or CCS-P) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) in that order.

Two years of coding experience preferred.

Education and/or Experience

If not certified or registered, the employee is required to obtain one of the certifications below within 6 months of employment. (Preferred upon hire) (Ranked by preference)

American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)’s

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P)

Certified Coding Associate (CCA)

Work ScheduleMonday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (flexible); 80hrs/2wksPayThe hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$27.00 - $40.50 per hour
