We are proud to be the regional referral center of choice providing health care throughout Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.We offer the following benefits to support you and your family:On-site childcare with extended hoursCare@Work premium account for additional support with children pets dependent adults and household needsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your familyPaid Time Off (PTO)Health/Dental/Vision InsuranceFlexible spending accountsVoluntary Protection: Group Accident Critical Illness and Identify TheftAdoption AssistanceTuition Assistance for career growth and developmentMatching 401(k) and 457(b) Retirement ProgramsWellness ProgramAdditional incentives for eligible full time day shift and night shift opportunitiesResponsibilitiesThe Physician Assistant (PA) Hospitalist is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care,under the supervision of a Physician.ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES▪ Obtain medical histories when necessary.▪ Perform physical exams (within established protocol).▪ Diagnose, treat and monitor acute and chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).▪ Order and interpret diagnostic tests.▪ Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocolguidelines).▪ Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.▪ Assure the supervising physician reviews and signs off charts within seven (7) days.▪ Maintain patient’s privacy and confidentiality.▪ Work closely with nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.▪ Consult with the supervising physician regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan oftreatment.▪ Provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families.▪ Makes follow up calls to check patient’s progress.▪ Reviews diagnostic testing results such as labs and imaging reports (within clinic protocol timeframe)▪ Assists doctors with phone coverage and hospital rounds.▪ Oversees clinical data collection (ie for quality improvement or database reporting)▪ Conducts relevant research.▪ Participate in quality improvement.▪ Attends meetings as requested.▪ Responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner.▪ Performs other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Education and Experience:

Graduate of a Physician Assistant training program

Required Licensure and Certification(s):

State PA license required

BLS

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

2 years experience as a full-time Physician Assistant, preferably in inpatient or outpatient setting
