Independent insurance adjusting firm is seeking a new employee to work at our front desk. This is a fast-paced office environment perfect for someone who enjoys staying busy with opportunity for advancement.
Job Duties Include but not limited to:
1. Answer calls and direct them to the correct person.
2. Setup new assignments/claims in our file management system
3. Call/search online to obtain crash reports.
4. Prepare and mail correspondence related to claims.
5. Progressively more difficult tasks in the investigation of claims as your skills and knowledge progress, including things such as new accident intake, obtaining recorded statements, preparing vehicle valuations, drafting captioned narrative investigative reports, conducting background/skip tracing/motor vehicle record searches, and if you wish, learning to conduct accident investigation in the field (i.e. go to the scene of a crash to investigate liability).
To be successful in this position the following skills are useful:
1. Experience with multi-line phone systems (easy to learn)
2. Multitasking - The ability to work quickly in multiple computer programs, including excel, word, chat, and our proprietary software.
3. Type at least a minimum 30 wpm.
4. The ability to work as part of a team to accomplish set tasks assigned to you to assist in the investigation of insurance claims and accident investigation.
5. Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word.
6. Basic to intermediate skill level using Microsoft Excel.
7. An investigative mind.
The job offers an opportunity for advancement into other positions in our company in the future based on your performance, aptitude, and desire. You will be filling the position of someone else who advanced within our company. Our goal is always to use this position as a stepping stone to train members of our team to advance into another position. This is unlikely to happen for at least 12-24 months unless we lose a member of our team, experience substantial growth, and/or you have prior related experience.
This is an in-office position, NOT virtual/work from home.
Hours for this position are expected to be 8a-5p, but there is a possibility of some flexibility.
Benefits offered currently (subject to change; however, we do not anticipate that): A) Option of two health insurance plans for which we pay for 1/2 of the employee's premiums for their coverage. B) We pay for 100% of the employees dental and vision and insurance. C) One week of paid vacation is provided after a year, and two weeks after two years.
If you are fluent bi-lingual in Spanish you will be given preference.
The hiring process will include:
1. Initial phone interview
2. In-person interview to included informal basic computer skills evaluation, grammar skills evaluation, and typing speed test.
3. Background check and drug test.
